Function of social media
According to the McGrow Hill Dictionary , social media is a tool that people use to interact with each other by creating, sharing, and exchanging information and ideas in a virtual network and community. (read:model communication). Then, according to Gartner research : “ social media is an on-line environment established for the purpose of mass collaborative.” (Brandley,2011). This definision is simple yet provides powerful insight. It deliberates that social media is an environment rather than a technology. (e.g facebook can be referred to a social media environment developed on a socil networking technology. A purpose for technology point it to be social media else it’s only a technology. Although social media can be used for various interactions (E.g group communication, one-to-one interactions,)yet its usefllness is best gained from mass collaborative.
Technological advances and information make it much easier for humans to access anything they want. Today one the advance in technology and information is the using social media. Using human social media is getting easier, faster to search for information and share information. For example, FB,IG,WHATSAPP, and another. But, in the use sosial media there is a great deal of loss and gain, depending in humans themselves use it.
According to the Honeycomb Framework in 2011, social media functional are know to us. In 2011, Jn H.Kiezmann,Kritopher Hermes, Kan P.McCarthy and Bruno S.Silvesre described the honeycomb’s foundation relationship as the presentation of a framework that defines social media by using seven, namely :
The first, IDENTITY describes the setting of identity of users in a social media involving name, age, gender, profession, location and photography.
Secondly, CONVERSATION describes the setting of users to communicate with other in social media
The third, SHARING describes portrays in exchange, sharing and content receiving text, picture, or video done by the user.
Next, PRESENCE shows whether users can access other users.
Fifth, RELATIONSHIP describe users as linked or related to others users.
And next, GROUPS represents users in communities and sub­_communities that have background, interest or demography.
So, when a person uses social media it is bound to feel the social media advantages and disadvantages. If using social media functions well it will get good results too. Then it is better to use good social media functional to make good for the cause.
