              Social media is an online media that is used as a means of social intercourse online on the internet. On social media, used can communicate, interact, share, network, and various other activities. Social media used website-based technology or applications that can transform a communication into an interactive dialogue. According to Chris Brogan the notion of social media is asset of communication tools and new collaborations that were previously not available to ordinary people.
              This social media has an impact on the lives of adolescents. This is because, children have grown up surrounded by mobile devices and social media networking sites. For example social media that is often used is YouTube, Facebook, Blog, Twitter, and others.
               As a result, social media has become an important aspect of their livers. Social media has changed the way they interact with parents, and their peers. Besides that, social media has also had a positive and negative impact on their livers.
                On the positive side, extending friendship network. Teenagers are more easily friends with other people around the world. Although most of them have never been met directly. Will be motivated to learn to develop themselves through friends they meet online, easy to get information. In addition, social media networking sites can also be used to share positive things with everyone.
                The negative side is hard to socialize with people around. Because they are lazy learn to communicate real. Social media makes a person only selfish. They become unconscious of their environment, because they spend a lot of time on the internet. Reduce performance, company employees, students who play social media while doing their jobs will reduce their work time and study time. Crime in cyberspace. This crime is known as cyber crim. There are many kinds of world crime such as; hacking, bullying, cracking, and so on.
               Social media will not be separated from the positive or negative influences, the impact depends on the users themselves. But, teens can also limit themselves to good norms and morals. Early character formation is very important for the future of adolescents. Because, teenagers are the successor of the nation. The role of parents is important to monitor the activities of teenagers when swearing at social media.
                It’s easy and doesn’t take a long time for someone to create an account on social media. Teenagers who have social media usually upload about personal activities, outpouring their hearts and photos with their friends. The more active a teenager is on social media, the more they are considered cool and slang. Whereas those who do not have social media will be considered old-fashioned, outdated, or lack of socialization.
               
                However, it has become increasingly clear that social media has become a very important part of everyday life, especially for teenagers. Social media network sites can have a positive impact and have negative impact. So depending on who uses it, then if you use a professional it will have a negative impact. Social media can also make teenagers become lazy to learn. Therefore, teens must be careful in using social media.
